Pottery Introduction Workshop:

Clay-build PLUS Potter's Wheel Taster Experience

Not available at the moment due to Covid-19:
Government, WHO & RBWM EHO guidance does not permit prolonged face-to-face tuition and this workshop contains 2 activities lasting up 2 hours in total, under the constant supervision of the tutor across the potters wheel and at the students table.
We hope to be able to offer these workshops again soon.

2 Activities in 1 workshop
  • 1st Activity: Choose a clay-build project from our display: coil, slab, emboss, sculpt etc. each member of your group will be guided through this project, step-by step. This piece can be decorated with our coloured glazes during the workshop. It will remain at the studio to be dried out slowly, dipped in clear glaze, then fired.  It will be ready for collection two weeks later.  This activity can take up to 2hrs.
  • 2nd Activity: Each group member will also receive one-to-one tuition on the potter's wheel and "throw" their very own pot, this activity takes approx. 20-30 minutes per person (over and above the clay-build time), guidance and assistance will be provided during the process. This pot can be taken home the same day, let it dry out naturally then decorate it with acrylic paints - please note this pot will not be foodsafe or watertight.  There is the option to upgrade to the Premium Potter's Wheel package: leave your pot with us to be fired, return after 2 weeks to decorate it with our coloured glazes, leave your pot with us for a second firing which will make it foodsafe and watertight, upgrade cost £15pp.
